St. Isidore the Farmer was raised to devoted to the faith near Madrid, Spain. As a young boy, Saint Isidore was sent off to work plowing the fields for a man by the name of John de Vargas. It was here that St Isidore fell in love with a woman who shared his devotion and faith. It was due to losing their first child that the couple decided to live out their lives in continence. Known for his generosity, Saint Isidore shared what little food he might have with those less fortunate than himself, and it was reported that the small amount food, doubled and redoubled until everyone had been fed.
